Imagine going to a foreign land for a trip with your husband and getting re-married there!
So was the case with Kerry Beard from Sydney, Australia and her late husband Jose Bercerra from Mexico. The beautiful couple visited Jaipur for a holiday and coincidentally stumbled upon Lagan Mandap’s event. We were just starting off with the idea of a mock wedding to promote our exhibitions at Rambagh Palace, Jaipur. We reached out to the couple and promised them the time of their lives - A Big Fat Indian Wedding!

The couple agreed to get re-married with Lagan Mandap planning and executing the whole wedding. Their friends were also invited to witness the complete celebration and so began the planning of their wedding with all the different ceremonies and rituals of an Indian wedding. During the whole ceremony, the big smiles of friends and family of the couple lit up the evening. They were so happy and wished a happily ever after for the couple. Indeed, dreams do come true.
The whole ceremony strengthened the love between the couple. Even if this was the second time they got married, they felt the butterflies in their stomach as if it was the first. This shows how important the wedding ceremony or in this case ceremonies are in the life of a couple. It molds and strengthens the bond between the wife and the groom. The traditional indian wedding has multiple ceremonies which were organised and planned showcasing our wonderful exhibitors clothing line, jewellery designs, the decorations and more!

The Lagan Mandap Wedding had all the functions that make an Indian wedding Big & Grand, including the Varmaala ceremony, Baarat with the traditional Ghodhi, Mehendi, Sangeet, Tohran and Kanyadaan during Pheras. It was a full two day event with Mehendi on the first day and the wedding the next day. An old resident couple of Jaipur volunteered to do the Kanyadaan for Kerry as they never had a daughter and Kanyadaan is considered a door for the heavenly abodes according to the Indian beliefs. The couple still profoundly remembers the bride as their own daughter! The whole ceremony strengthened the love between the couple. Even if this was the second time they got married, they felt the butterflies in their stomach as if it was the first. During the whole ceremony, the big smile of friends and family of the couple dominated the whole room.

This shows how important ceremonies are in the life of a couple. It molds and strengthens the bond between the wife and the groom. The Chief Guest for the evening was Smt. Vasundhara Raje, former Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan. The Guests of Honour were Simran Kaur (Miss India Universe 2008), Parvati (Miss World 2008), and Tanvi Vyaas (Miss Earth 2008). A wedding of a lifetime is what Lagan Mandap has promised and has fulfilled. This is just one of the dream weddings that Lagan Mandap has brought to life. It ensures that everyone will remember the ceremony as one of the best moments of their life.
