You could be drowning in a sea of wedding decisions, trying to find the perfect choice for your D-Day, but somehow ending up more confused than when you started. Options, options, options, SO many options everywhere you look. Just then, you remember the knight in shining armor, the light at the end of the tunnel, the magical wedding planners! They will come and save you on your big day.
However, there is a hitch. You think your knight in shining armo
r is not so shiny. You have heard some pretty disturbing things and are unsure on how to proceed.
So, today, we are going to debunk these myths and return the magic of the wedding planners back to their original glory.
1) Wedding planners are expensive
To answer this simply, wedding planners are here to fulfill the client’s wishes, in their budget. Think about it logically, planners want us to hire their services, therefore, they are going to try and do everything to satisfy the client and spend their budget reasonably. If a planner were to disregard a client's wishes, they would harm their reputation and business more. They have no reason to overspend.

2) Planners only work with well-known clientele
Most planners get into the business because they dream of helping and creating dream weddings for others. Their main objective is to understand the client’s ideas and desires regardless of their background. Moreover, most of the wedding planners make sure to plan the whole wedding under the desired budget of their client by considering their background. Therefore, not all planners target high-end clientele, most simply want to help by solely understanding their client and their circumstances.

3) There is heaps of help available on Pinterest, Instagram and from friends and family, we don’t really need a wedding planner.
Firstly, Pinterest and Instagram, sets highly unrealistic standards which are not possible to fit under a tight budget. But let’s assume you do get an amazing wedding idea, that includes all your dream elements under your budget. Only thing now left to do is to actually source all those said elements.
But, where will you travel in search of them and how many vendors would you bargain with? Some might give you exceptionally high rates, or some might try to be unreasonable or tough. On top of that, you will anyways have too much to stress about other than a poorly planned wedding.
A wedding planner would know exactly what to do in situations like those since they would handle the stress of wedding planning for you. They would have a list of trusted vendors, giving them exactly what they want, whenever they want, without letting you break a sweat.

4) Wedding planner would take over the wedding, giving me no control
Wedding Planner’s main goal is to ensure that you have your desired dream wedding. They ensure this by constantly going over every small detail through you and your family. They suggest ideas according to your likes and give out honest critiques to provide you your perfect wedding. These critiques are often misunderstood by many as it can be viewed as controlling, however, they are only expressed to ensure that there are no flaws in the wedding.

5) Wedding planning requires at least 8 months
Wedding planning does not necessarily require 8 months as the planner is experienced and knowledgeable in this field. When planners meet their clients, they prepare their ideas and designs beforehand which makes it easier to complete the required process.
Additionally, the time limit of the wedding also partially depends on how much of the legal paperwork is in the order, when the bride-groom wants to get married, if there are any specific religious concerns they need to keep under consideration and so on.
Lastly, a major chunk of a wedding also depends on how extensive the design of the wedding is and how much time it takes to resource things.
So a wedding could take just a month, but it could also take a whole year.

6) Wedding planners can make the impossible, possible.
How much ever we wish for it to be true, sadly, it is not. A lot of time reality differs from dream, and while we work exceptionally hard to bring your dream wedding to life, sometimes things are restricted; either in budget, resources, or reach. Moreover, how much we try to make it possible, it will always lag in one place or another: maybe the flowers would be too pink or envelopes too shiny; attaining a dream wedding is, well, a dream.
But we do nail the second best alternative. We try to bring your vision to life as closely as we can, keeping in mind the budget and restrictions, to bring you maybe not your dream wedding, but definitely a memorable one.
